Intake Procedures
Fraternity & Sorority Affairs requires all chapters which facilitate an intake process to follow the below steps:
- Complete the online Membership Intake/Recruitment/Rush Notification Form
- Reach out to our Office Manager, Michelle Hart at moutlaw@illinois.edu to set up a meeting with your FSA liaison
- Have a meeting with your FSA liaison to complete/discuss:
- Any required paperwork*
- Roster updates
- Grade release cards
- Presentation/reveal/show policies and procedures
- After your meeting with your FSA liaison
- Update your chapter roster with those selected to join your organization
- When: As soon as they are selected
- Turn in grade release cards for all those selected to join your organization
- When: by semester deadline**
- Submit the information regarding your presentation/reveal/show via the online Membership Presentation/Reveal/Show Notification Form
- Update your chapter roster with those selected to join your organization
* If your organization requires national or regional paperwork be signed prior to beginning the process listed above, please drop it by the FSA office and allow 2 business days for signatures.
** If your organization requires grade verification, grade release cards must be on file prior to verification being provided.
New Member Presentations & Shows
New Member Presentations & Shows are performances hosted by chapters which have recently initiated new members into their organizations and wish to publicly introduce them to the campus community. In order to facilitate a smooth and successful presentation, chapters are required to meet with the Fraternity & Sorority Affairs Advisors to review policies and expectations. Below is a listing of items pertaining to the behavior/representation expectations of presentations/reveals/shows.
Policies for New Member Presentations/Reveals/Shows
Any event which publicly introduces or reveals recently initiated members must follow the policies below.
- Any disparaging comments toward other organizations are not permissible.
- Any form of physical/verbal abuse is not permissible. This includes but is not limited to slapping, kicking, spitting, punching, or caning.
- The space being used for the purpose of a presentation/reveal/show must be reserved and it is recommended that an indoor back-up location should be booked for organizations who wish to conduct presentation/reveal/show outside.
- Organizations will follow the facility policies as described by the specific location where the presentation/reveal/show will be held.
- Organizations will refer to the Student Code as a guideline for the decorum of their members.
- Please note the following sections of the Student Code may be applicable to your organizations' presentation/reveal/show:
- Organizations wishing to host a presentation/reveal/show outside may only do so if the temperature is above 50°F.
- It is recommended that a representative of the sponsoring graduate chapter or the Chapter Advisor be present at the presentation/reveal/show.
- Organizations are responsible for the behaviors and actions of all members and attendees.
- Any presentation/reveal/show which reveals the identity of recently initiated members must take place during the same semester that membership intake/recruitment/rush was conducted.
- Presentation/reveal/show cannot take place after the Sunday before Reading Day.

Roster Updates
Rosters for chapters recognized by Fraternity & Sorority Affairs must be kept updated at all times. This includes the prompt addition of new members, the removal of members who are no longer enrolled at the institution and the updating of pertinent officer information. Access the Fraternity & Sorority Affairs Chapter Roster System.
Rosters must be updated according to the following schedule in order for members to be listed on the respective semester’s grade report.
Roster Updates Due
- Fall Semester: December 1
- Spring Semester: May 1
